Fu Hao literally means Lady Hao, and she was given a posthumous name Xin. She was the legal wife of King Wuding (r. 1324-1266 b.c.e.) of the Shang dynasty (ca. sixteenth-eleventh centuries b.c.e.) and had her own troops.
