While working on a book on birds of the Indian subcontinent (Rasmussen & Anderton, 2005) I found that a large number of species-level changes were required due to enhanced knowledge of morphology and vocalizations. Some of these have been recently published elsewhere, and it is intended that scientific treatments of the remainder will appear in due course.
