The present article reveals the biodegradation of low density polyethylene by two fungal strains isolated from municipal landfill area. The degrading ability of the two fungal strains was evaluated by performing colonization studies, SEM and Sturm test analysis. Colonization studies on LDPE film was performed over a period of one month by measuring the fresh weight of the fungus.
