The metalloprotease ADAMTS13 affects platelet adhesion and aggregation through depolymerization of von Willebrand factor (VWF) multimers. Identification of ADAMTS13-binding proteins would reveal the hitherto unrecognized mechanisms underlying microvascular thrombus.
