Interaction of bilirubin with phospholipid liposomes was studied at varying pH. Liposomes were prepared from egg-phosphatidylcholine, dipalmitoyl-phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, egg-phosphatidylcholine, and phosphatidylethanolamine with 5% (w/w) cholesterol, phosphatidylserine, sphingomyelin, and a lipid preparation from cat brain.
