Although there is no consensus on its incidence, bilateral peritonsillar abscess is an unusual variant of an otherwise relatively common otolaryngologic disease. A bilateral peritonsillar abscess can be differentiated from other oropharyngeal pathology with a detailed physical examination and complementary imaging.
