In this work, we present a biexciton state population in (111)B oriented site-controlled InGaAs quantum dots (QDs) by resonant two photon excitation. We show that the excited state recombines emitting highly pure single photon pairs entangled in polarization. The discussed cases herein are compelling due to the specific energetic structure of pyramidal InGaAs QDs—an antibinding biexciton—a state with a positive binding energy. We demonstrate that resonant two-photon excitation of QDs with…

Optical properties and symmetry optimization of spectrally (excitonically) uniform site-controlled GaAs pyramidal quantum dots
GaAs quantum dots (QDs) have recently emerged as state-of-the-art semiconductor sources of polarization-entangled photon pairs, however, without site-control capability. In this work, we present a
Stimulated Generation of Indistinguishable Single Photons from a Quantum Ladder System.
We propose a scheme for the generation of highly indistinguishable single photons using semiconductor quantum dots and demonstrate its performance and potential. The scheme is based on the resonant

Phonon-assisted robust and deterministic two-photon biexciton preparation in a quantum dot
We investigate both experimentally and theoretically a simple yet more robust and flexible alternative to Rabi oscillation-type biexciton preparation protocols traditionally used for semiconductor
Dissipative preparation of the exciton and biexciton in a self-assembled quantum dot on picosecond timescales
Pulsed resonant fluorescence is used to probe ultrafast phonon-assisted exciton and biexciton preparation in individual self-assembled InGaAs quantum dots. By driving the system using large area
Conditions for entangled photon emission from (111)B site-controlled Pyramidal quantum dots
A study of highly symmetric site-controlled Pyramidal In0.25Ga0.75As quantum dots (QDs) is presented. It is discussed that polarization-entangled photons can be also obtained from Pyramidal QDs of
Fast and selective phonon-assisted state preparation of a quantum dot by adiabatic undressing
We investigate theoretically the temporal behavior of a quantum dot under off-resonant optical excitation targeted at fast acoustic phonon-assisted state preparation. We demonstrate that in a
Repulsive exciton-exciton interaction in quantum dots
Biexcitons localized in single InAs/GaAs quantum dots (QD's) are investigated by cathodoluminescence, demonstrating an anticorrelation of the biexciton binding energy and the exciton transition
Phonon-assisted population inversion of a single InGaAs/GaAs quantum dot by pulsed laser excitation.
A new method is demonstrated to realize the population inversion of a single InGaAs/GaAs quantum dot excited by a laser pulse tuned within the neutral exciton phonon sideband by rapid thermalization of the optically dressed states via incoherent phonon-assisted relaxation.
Robust quantum dot exciton generation via adiabatic passage with frequency-swept optical pulses.
The robust population inversion in a single quantum dot is reported on using an optical technique that exploits rapid adiabatic passage from the ground to an excited state through excitation with laser pulses whose frequency is swept through the resonance.
Phonon-Assisted Two-Photon Interference from Remote Quantum Emitters
This work exploits for the first time the full potential of a novel phonon-assisted two-photon excitation scheme, which allows for the generation of highly indistinguishable single photons and entangled photon-pairs, enables push-button biexciton state preparation and outperforms conventional resonant two- phoenix excitation schemes in terms of robustness against environmental decoherence.
Monitoring electrically driven cancellation of exciton fine structure in a semiconductor quantum dot by optical orientation
We use optical orientation technique to monitor the degeneracy control of exciton states in a single InAs∕GaAs quantum dot, achieved by applying an in-plane electric field. Under circularly polarized
