Home Healthcare (HHC) is an emerging and fast-expanding service sector that gives rise to challenging vehicle routing and scheduling problems. Each day, HHC structures must schedule the visits of caregivers to patients requiring specific medical and paramedical services at home. These operations have the potential to be unsuitable if the visits are not planned correctly, leading hence to high logistics costs and/or deteriorated service level. In this article, this issue is modeled as a vehicle…
Heterogeneous Vehicle Routing Problem in Home Healthcare Enhanced By Elitism of ACO Using Neighborhood Structures
This paper proposed bi-objective to minimize both total travel time and idle time of heterogeneous capacitated vehicle routing problem in HHC by using Elitism of Ant colony optimization (E-ACO) further enhanced with neighbourhood structures.
A review of Static, Dynamic and Stochastic Vehicle Routing Problems in Home Healthcare
It is shown that there exists only very less contribution to work on applying the dynamic and stochastic type of models using metaheuristic algorithms in HHC.
A biobjective home health care logistics considering the working time and route balancing: a self-adaptive social engineering optimizer
This research is the first of its kind to optimize the time and cost of HHC services by considering the route balancing and establishes a biobjective optimization model that minimizes the total service time and the total costs to meet the aforementioned limitations for the first time.
A Novel Algorithm for Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem for Smart Cities
A novel giant tour best cost crossover (GTBCX) operator is proposed which works stochastically to search for the optimal solutions of the CVRP and helps to find results that are superior in terms of the overall distance traveled, length of the longest route, quality, and number of Pareto solutions.
Sustainable and Robust Home Healthcare Logistics: A Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Today, research on healthcare logistics is an important challenge in developing and developed countries, especially when a pandemic such as COVID-19 occurs. The responses required during such a
Learn-n-Route: Learning implicit preferences for vehicle routing
This work investigates a learning decision support system for vehicle routing, where the routing engine learns implicit preferences that human planners have when manually creating route plans (or routings), and explores different schemes to construct the probabilistic transition matrix that can co-evolve with changing preferences over time.
A Multiobjective Large Neighborhood Search Metaheuristic for the Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows
The present paper discusses a practical real-life application of the MOLNS algorithm, which is proven to be efficient both in the quality of results, as it offers three new optimal solutions in Solomon’s dataset and produces near optimal results in most instances, and in terms of computational time.
