Information geometry can be used to understand and optimize Higgs boson measurements at the LHC. The Fisher information encodes the maximum sensitivity of observables to model parameters for a given experiment. Applied to higher-dimensional operators, it defines the new physics reach of any LHC signature. We calculate the Fisher information for Higgs production in weak boson fusion with decays into tau pairs and four leptons and for Higgs production in association with a single top quark. In a…
Machine learning the Higgs boson-top quark CP phase
We explore the direct Higgs-top CP measurement via the pp → t ¯ th channel at the high-luminosity LHC. We show that a combination of machine learning techniques and efficient kinematic reconstruction
Better Higgs-CP Tests Through Information Geometry
Author(s): Brehmer, Johann; Kling, Felix; Plehn, Tilman; Tait, Tim MP | Abstract: Measuring the CP symmetry in the Higgs sector is one of the key tasks of the LHC and a crucial ingredient for
The gauge-Higgs legacy of the LHC Run I
A bstractThe effective Lagrangian expansion provides a framework to study effects of new physics at the electroweak scale. To make full use of LHC data in constraining higher-dimensional operators we
Higgs boson pair production at future hadron colliders: From kinematics to dynamics
The measurement of triple Higgs coupling is a key benchmark for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and future colliders. It directly probes the Higgs potential and its fundamental properties in
Exploring anomalous couplings in Higgs boson pair production through shape analysis
We classify shapes of Higgs boson pair invariant mass distributions m hh , calculated at NLO with full top quark mass dependence, and visualise how distinct classes of shapes relate to the underlying
The Gauge-Higgs legacy of the LHC run II
We present a global analysis of the Higgs and electroweak sector based on LHC Run II and electroweak precision observables. We show which measurements provide the leading constraints on Higgs-related
Phenomenology for the Large Hadron Collider
The search for physics Beyond the Standard Model is the underlying motivation for the physics programme of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. In this thesis we will present studies into the Large
Constraining new resonant physics with top spin polarisation information
We provide a comprehensive analysis of the power of including top quark-polarisation information to kinematically challenging top pair resonance searches, for which ATLAS and CMS start losing
Character Profile of the Higgs boson
Elementary particle physics describes and measures the properties of the smallest, most fundamental particles that make up the universe. The Standard Model of elementary particle physics provides a
