Background. Beta2-adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) gene polymorphisms, Arg16Gly and Gln27Glu, have been implicated in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the association of these two polymorphisms with the risk of myocardial infarction (MI) in the Egyptian population. Methods. Blood samples were collected from 68 MI patients and 75 healthy controls. They were assessed for the presence of cardiovascular risk factors and genotyped for the Arg16Gly…

Association of β-Adrenergic Receptor Gene Polymorphisms With Acute Coronary Syndrome and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in an Arab Population

There is a possible synergic association between DM, carrier of ADRB1 (Arg389Gly) variants, and significant coronary artery stenosis among Arabs, and further prospective studies with larger sample sizes are warranted to support these findings.

Group-specific component exon 11 haplotypes (D432E and T436K) and risk of albuminuria in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients

GC variants could have independent effects on the risk of T2DM and DN in the study population and be correlated with the levels of albuminuria.

Association of group‐specific component exon 11 polymorphisms with bronchial asthma in children and adolescents

Both study GC variants could be implicated in childhood bronchial asthma pathogenesis; rs7041 GG genotype and G allele increased asthma risk while rs4588 AA genotypes and A allele conferred protection in the study population.

Association of Autoimmune Regulator Gene Rs2075876 Variant, but Not Gene Expression with Alopecia Areata in Males: A Case–control Study

The intronic variant (rs2075876) is suggested to be a potent susceptibility variant for AA development in the studied population.

Association of β1 and β2-adrenoceptor Polymorphisms With the Demand of Inotropic Catecholamine Support Following Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in Iranian Population

Findings suggest that genetic variability in the β1 and β2AR polymorphisms may not be a major determinant of cardiac responses to catecholamine treatment in Iranian population, however, larger scale studies with different ethnicities are needed for confirmation.

Interleukin 17 receptor A haplotype analysis in chronic spontaneous urticaria: A preliminary study.

Haplotype analysis for one of the key player gene, IL17RA, for CSU showed that IL17 RA gene polymorphisms might contribute to the increased susceptibility to CSU.

Interleukin 17 Receptor a Haplotype Analysis in Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria

Haplotype analysis for one of the key player gene, IL17RA, for CSU showed that IL17 RA gene polymorphisms might contribute to the increased susceptibility to CSU.

Association of MicroRNA-196a2 Variant with Response to Short-Acting β2-Agonist in COPD: An Egyptian Pilot Study

MIR-196a2 rs11614913 polymorphism is associated with the bronchodilator response of COPD in the authors' sample of the Egyptian population, generating hypothesis of the potential use of MIR- 196a2 variant as a pharmacogenetic marker for COPD.

Haplotype association analysis of the polymorphisms Arg16Gly and Gln27Glu of the adrenergic β2 receptor in a Swedish hypertensive population

No evidence is found that haplotype for the two most common polymorphisms in the β2AR are associated with development of MI in a Swedish hypertensive population, but haplotype may be associated with SBP.

β 2 -adrenergic receptor gene polymorphisms in normal and in patients with myocardial infarction in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia

The findings indicate a moderate association of the β2 -AR G16R gene polymorphism with MI suggesting that this gene plays a universal role in the development of MI across ethnicities.

The Glu27 genotypes of the Beta2-adrenergic receptor are predictors for severe coronary artery disease

Results indicate that both the C/G and G/G genotypes are significantly associated with CAD, when compared to the CON group, and that the Gln27Glu genotypes (homo- or heterozygous) of the beta2-AR may be independent predictors of severe CAD.

Preliminary study on association of beta2-adrenergic receptor polymorphism with hypertension in hypertensive subjects attending Balok Health Centre, Kuantan.

It is suggested that the variation within codon 16 and 27 of ADRB2 gene were unlikely to confer genetic susceptibility for hypertension in population samples.

[Analysis of beta2-adrenergic receptor gene (beta2AR) Arg16Gly polymorphism in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia in Chinese population].

The Arg16Gly polymorphism in beta2-adrenergic receptor gene may be associated with TG and/or cholesterol metabolism in Chinese Han population, and is associated with serum TG,apoB100 and apoAII levels in healthy Chinese subjects in Chengdu area.

Association of beta2-adrenergic receptor gene polymorphisms and nocturnal asthma in Saudi patients

A poor association of individual single nuceotide polymorphisms with nocturnal asthma is indicated by the genotype and allele frequencies of β2-AR gene polymorphisms in normal Saudi subjects andNocturnal asthmatic patients.

The E27 beta2-adrenergic receptor polymorphism reduces the risk of myocardial infarction in dyslipidemic young males.

The results show that the E27 allele of the beta2-adrenergic receptor has a significant protective effect on MI in dyslipidemic young male.

Association between polymorphisms in the beta2-adrenergic receptor gene with myocardial infarction and ischaemic stroke in women.

The results suggest that the haplotype Gly16-Gln27-Thr164 is associated with reduced risk of incident myocardial infarction but not ischaemic stroke in Caucasian women and suggest differential pathophysiologies for myocardia infarctions and stroke.
