All UK local authorities have been working towards becoming “100% e-enabled” by the end of 2005. As the deadline approaches, there is recognition that the current target-based agenda for local authorities needs to evolve towards a deeper understanding of the process improvements that will be necessary to meet efficiency and effectiveness targets while simultaneously delivering enriched multichannel services focussed on meeting needs from the citizen’s perspective.
