Chemisorption of Benzene on Cu-montmorillonite as Characterized by Ftir a N D 13c Mas N M R
- Z. R. HINEDI, C. T. JOHNSTON
Benzene formed a stable coinplex through its pi electrons to the copper ion in copper(II)montmorillonite. Copper(II)was the only exchangeable metal cation in montmorillonite to form a complex with benzene. Only those clay minerals whose charge arises in the octahedral layer produced the complex.
