We investigated the ultrastructural, immunohistochemical, biochemical and behavioral effects of chronic neuroinflammation in young rats produced by injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) into the 4th ventricle. The 37-day infusion of LPS impaired spatial memory but not object recognition ability.
