A new appraach is introduced to estimating object surfaces in threedimensional space from a sequenoe of images. A 3-D surface of interest here is modeM as a function known up to the values of a few parameters. Surface estimation is then treated as he genaal problem of maximum lilihood parameter estimation based on two or more functionally related data sets.
