Battlefield advanced training life support. Chapter 14. Analgesia.

  • Published 2003 in Journal of the Royal Army Medical Corps

Abstract

Resuscitation using the BATLS method comes first. Effective analgesia is an essential part of casualty management. Methods used depend on your training, the number of casualties, the resources available and the injuries to be managed. Start simple, for example, splint limbs and cool burns. Effective analgesia may need a combination of techniques and drugs. If unsure, get help.
