This paper is concerned with the behavior of flows over a backward-facing step geo for various expansion ratios H/h 51.9423, 2.5 and 3.0. A literature survey was carrie out and it was found that the flow shows a strong two-dimensional behavior, on the of symmetry, for Reynolds numbers Re D5rUbD/m below approximately 400~Ub 5bulk velocity and D5hydraulic diameter).
