Background: The pathogenesis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a complex process that involves several molecular changes. Alterations in polycomb group proteins as well as Survivin have been described but details are still lacking particularly in T/NK-cell lymphomas. Polycomb proteins have a big role in cell cycle and differentiation. Survivin is another recently recognized player in non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Objective: To study the pattern of Bmi-1 and Survivin in different categories of B- and T/NK- cell… Expand

Assessing DcR3 expression in relation to survivin and other prognostic factors in B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
TLDR
D cR3 expression was associated with other prognostic factors including survivin, reduced remission rates, and shorter event-free survival and both DcR3 and survivin expressions on bone marrow sections can be of help in diagnosing bone marrow infiltration. Expand
In aggressive variants of non-Hodgkin lymphomas, Ezh2 is strongly expressed and polycomb repressive complex PRC1.4 dominates over PRC1.2
TLDR
In aggressive lymphoma variants, Ezh2 is strongly expressed and polycomb repressive complex PRC1.2.4 dominates over PRC2.2, and coexpression of Bmi-1 and Ezh 2 is a characteristic of aggressive lymphomas. Expand
Prognostic value of survivin in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma: a meta-analysis.
TLDR
It is suggested that survivin high expression might be a poor prognostic factor for patients with NHL, however, further large scale studies are needed to confirm these findings. Expand
Expression of survivin in human non-Hodgkin lymphoma and its correlation with proliferation and angiogenesis
TLDR
The results showed that the expression of survivin is significantly higher in aggressive NHL than in indolent NHL (P<0.01), and it was suggested that survivin may contribute to the progression of NHL by playing an important role in promoting cell proliferation, inhibiting cell apoptosis and enlisting angiogenesis. Expand
Confirmation of the molecular classification of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma by immunohistochemistry using a tissue microarray.
TLDR
In summary, immunostains can be used to determine the GCB and non-GCB subtypes of DLBCL and predict survival similar to the cDNA microarray. Expand
Abundant expression of BMI1 in follicular lymphoma is associated with reduced overall survival
TLDR
Multi-channel immunofluorescence and automated image analysis is used to quantify BMI1 selectively in the nuclei of FL-derived B-cells in routine biopsy specimens, demonstrating a significant association between abundant BMI1 and reduced overall survival. Expand
Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas: immunologic prognostic studies.
TLDR
The clinical significance and potential prognostic value of the expression of the new immunologic prognostic markers including nuclear proliferating antigen, suppressor and oncogenic proteins, HLA-DR surface antigens, tumour infiltrating T-lymphocytes, lymphocyte homing receptor and angiogenic molecules are assessed. Expand
Expression of the polycomb-group gene BMI1 is related to an unfavourable prognosis in primary nodal DLBCL
Background: : Clinical outcome in patients with diffuse large B cell lymphomas (DLBCL) is highly variable and poorly predictable. Microarray studies showed that patients with DLBCL with a germinalExpand
Survivin expression in lymph nodes, affected by lymphoma and reactive hyperplasia.
TLDR
The study indicates that patients with nHL presented a high level of survivin expression, it was more pronounced in aggressive than in indolent nHL. Expand
Distinct types of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma identified by gene expression profiling
TLDR
It is shown that there is diversity in gene expression among the tumours of DLBCL patients, apparently reflecting the variation in tumour proliferation rate, host response and differentiation state of the tumour. Expand
