SUMMARY: The effect of tamarind ingestion on fluoride retention was studied in three groups of dogs - control (Group I), fluoride-supplemented (Group II), and fluoride and tamarind-supplemented diets (Group III). The urinary excre- tion of fluoride was significantly higher in Group II (2.45 ± 0.39 mg F/day) and Group III (3.78 ± 0.35 mg F/day) as compared to Group I (0.205 ± 0.21 mgF/ day). The difference between Group II and III was also significant. The femur fluoride content of Group II…

Effect of Resveratrol on Hematological and Biochemical Alterations in Rats Exposed to Fluoride

The present study showed that fluoride caused adverse effects in rats and that resveratrol reduced hematological and biochemical alterations produced by fluoride exposure and restored the changes observed following fluoride treatment.

It is concluded that chronic fluorosis has no effect on hematological parameters in patients with endemic fluorosis.

Therapeutic efficacy of Tamarindus indica (L) to protect against fluoride-induced oxidative stress in the liver of female rats.

Tamarind pulp is able to prevent free radical induced oxidative stress by F, attributable to its antioxidant property, and may be useful to prevent the oxidative damage caused by consumption of excessive amounts of F.

Effects of Tamarindus indica Fruit Pulp Powder on Blood and Serum Profile of Fluorosed Rats

F fluoride water consumption increases free radical generation, limits enzyme activity, and results in altered hematological and blood biochemistry, and Tamarindus indica pulp powder was found to be beneficial in mitigating fluoride toxicity in rats.

COMPARATIVE STUDY ON ACUTE TOXICITY OF FLUORIDE, ALUMINIUM AND ALUMINIUM FLUORIDE TO SWISS ALBINO MICE

We report toxic effects of F - (NaF at 190 mg/kg body weight), Al 3+ (Al 2 (SO 4 ) 3 .16H 2 O at 78.4 mg/kg) and AlF 3 (at 103 mg/ kg) on Swiss albino mice exposed to them via gavage (0.5 ml) for 7

Effect of subchronic exposure to fluoride and role of Moringa stenopetala on hematologic parameters in mice

There was no significant difference in hematological indices between control mice and those mice treated with fluoride and, fluoride and crude extract of Moringa stenopetala crude extract together (p>0.05).

The Investigation of Biochemical and Histological Effects of Ellagic Acid in Experimental Chronic Fluorosis Induced Mice

In experimental chronic fluorosis was detected to decrease in levels of LSA, GSH, PON activity, calcium and glucose, and increase in MDA level and changes in lipid profiles and cellular degenerations in liver and kidney.

PROTECTIVE EFFECTS OF ALLIUM SATIVUM EXTRACT AGAINST SODIUM FLUORIDE INDUCED NEUROTOXICITY

Fluoride becomes toxic at higher doses which leads to Fluorosis. In addition to dental and skeletal fluorosis, it also affects soft tissues including liver, heart, kidney, muscle, brain, etc. The aim

Amla as an antihyperglycemic and hepato-renal protective agent in fluoride induced toxicity

It is concluded that E. officinalis fruit could be useful in regulating hyperglycemia and enhances antioxidant status of fluoride exposed animals.

Influence of type and level of dietary protein on fluoride bioavailability in the rat.

It is suggested that food fluoride, such as that originating from preparation of foods with fluoridated water, will be less bioavailable for an individual ingesting a high protein diet than for anindividual fed a low protein diet.

The Effect of Calcium and Phosphorus on Fluoride Absorption

This study was designed to study the effect of calcium and phosphate on fluoride retention when introduced into the gastrointestinal tract simultaneously with, or at selected times following, fluoride administration by the same route.

Acute fluoride poisoning.

The kinetics of fluoride distribution as measured in this patient suggest a rapid binding of ingested fluoride to bone, followed by gradual release and excretion, and peritoneal dialysis resulted in no significant fluoride removal.
