Topological superconductors are gapped superconductors with gapless and topologically robust quasiparticles propagating on the boundary. In this paper, we present a topological field theory description of three-dimensional time-reversal invariant topological superconductors. In our theory the topological superconductor is characterized by a topological coupling between the electromagnetic field and the superconducting phase fluctuation, which has the same form as the coupling of "axions" with…

Spin Gauge Interactions as a Topological Mechanism of Superconductivity
We talk about a low energy, effective, topological theory of superconductivity in which a topological mass term is radiatively induced in one loop effective action. In this field theoretic model, an
Spontaneous breaking of time-reversal symmetry in topological superconductors
TLDR
The quantitative analysis on the properties of topological states of superconductors with different crystalline symmetry shows that the phase transition in the topological superconducting state is result of spontaneous breaking of time-reversal symmetry in the superconductor state.
Particle-vortex duality in topological insulators and superconductors
A bstractWe investigate the origins and implications of the duality between topological insulators and topological superconductors in three and four spacetime dimensions. In the latter, the duality
Effective field theories for superconducting systems with multiple Fermi surfaces
In this work we investigate the description of superconducting systems with multiple Fermi surfaces. For the case of one Fermi surface we re-obtain the result that the superconductor is more
Field-Theory Foundations of Topological Insulators
Abstract In this chapter we provide an overview of the topological field theory approach to topological insulators. We start by reviewing the topological field theory description of integer quantum
Topology of crystalline insulators and superconductors
We complete a classification of topological phases and their topological defects in crystalline insulators and superconductors. We consider topological phases and defects described by noninteracting
(1 + 3)-D topological superconductors: Screening and confinement in the presence of external fields
Adopting the gauge-invariant and path-dependent variables formalism, we compute the interaction energy for a topological field theory describing (1 + 3)-D topological superconductors in the presence
Semimetal-insulator transition on the surface of a topological insulator with in-plane magnetization
A thin film of ferromagnetically ordered material proximate to the surface of a three-dimensional topological insulator explicitly breaks the time-reversal symmetry of the surface states. For an
Induced unconventional superconductivity on the surface states of Bi2Te3 topological insulator
Topological superconductivity is central to a variety of novel phenomena involving the interplay between topologically ordered phases and broken-symmetry states. The key ingredient is an
Topological electromagnetic response in the chiral superconductor Sr2RuO4
We report the observation of a fractional topological magneto-electric effect in Sr2RuO4 single crystal thin films by measuring the electric transport properties. In the absence of an external

Interaction effect on topological classification of superconductors in two dimensions
We introduce a new class of superconductors (SCs) in two spatial dimensions with time reversal symmetry and reflection (i.e., mirror) symmetry. In the absence of interactions, topological classes of
The Superfluid Phases Of Helium 3
A comprehensive treatment of the theory of superfluid helium-3 is presented in this book. This treatment also illustrates many of the principal themes of theoretical condensed matter physics over the
