Studies were carried out on the relationship between Phthiraptera and wild birds captured by mist nets at the Engenho Independencia, at Vicencia's county. Three families of Phthiraptera were identified. The Menoponidae were the one with the highest number of hosts. They were specially found in the dorsal face of the remiges.
