This article reports world averages of measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and $$\tau $$τ-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group using results available through summer 2016. For the averaging, common input parameters used in the various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to common values, and known correlations are taken into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, $$C\!P$$CP  violation parameters, parameters of…
Lepton-flavour violation in hadronic tau decays and $\ell$--$\tau$ conversion in nuclei
Within the Standard Model Effective Field Theory framework, with operators up to dimension 6, we perform a model-independent analysis of the lepton-flavour-violating processes involving tau leptons.
Theoretical update of B-Mixing and Lifetimes
We review the current status of theoretical predictions for mixing quantities and lifetimes in the $B$-sector. In particular, due to the first non-zero measurement of the decay rate difference in the
CP Violation in Heavy-Flavour Hadrons
Measurements of $CP$-violating observables in $B$ meson decays can be used to determine the angles of the Unitarity Triangle and hence probe for manifestations of New Physics beyond the

Exclusive semileptonic $b$-hadron decays are under good theoretical control, which allows precise determinations of the CKM matrix elements, $V_{ub}$ and $V_{cb}$. The large production of $\Lambda_b$
Semileptonic decays of B(*) , D(*) into νl and pseudoscalar or vector mesons
We perform a study of the $B^{(*)}$, $D^{(*)}$ semileptonic decays, using a different method than in conventional approaches, where the matrix elements of the weak operators are evaluated and a
New physics searches in $B \rightarrow D^{(*)}\tau \nu$ decays
I review the current status of measurements involving semi-tauonic $B$ meson decay at the $B$-factories. I briefly discuss the experimental methods and highlight the importance of background
B-decay anomalies in a composite leptoquark model
The collection of a few anomalies in semileptonic B-decays, especially in $$b\rightarrow c \tau \bar{\nu }$$b→cτν¯, invites to speculate about the emergence of some striking new phenomena, perhaps
B-decay anomalies in Pati–Salam SU(4)
Attempts to incorporate in a coherent picture the B-decay anomalies presumably observed in $$b\rightarrow c$$b→c and $$b\rightarrow s$$b→s semi-leptonic decays have to face the absence of signals in
$B$-mixing in and beyond the Standard model
We review the status of mixing of neutral $B$-mesons, including a discussion of the current precision of Standard Model (SM) predictions as well as the space that is left for effects of new physics.

Measurement of the averageb hadron lifetime inZ0 decays
AbstractA sample of 2610 electron candidates and 2762 muon candidates identified in hadronicZ0 decays has been used to measure the averageb hadron lifetime. These data were recorded with the OPAL
Moments of semileptonic B decay distributionsin the 1/mb expansion
Abstract. We report the OPE-based predictions for a number of lepton energy and hadronic mass moments in the inclusive semileptonic $B \to X_c \ell\nu$ decays with a lower cut on the charged lepton
Measurement of Bd mixing using opposite-side flavor tagging
We report on a measurement of the $B^0_d$ mixing frequency and the calibration of an opposite-side flavor tagger in the D{\O}experiment. Various properties associated with the $b$ quark on the
Measurement of the B semileptonic branching fraction with lepton tags.
The B→Xeν momentum spectrum was obtained over nearly the full momentum range by using charge and kinematic correlations in events with a high-momentum lepton tag and an additional electron to measure the B-meson semileptonic branching fraction.
Lambdab lifetime puzzle in heavy-quark expansion
Lifetime differences of heavy hadrons can be consistently computed in heavy-quark expansion. The leading effects appear through spectator interactions at order 1/m_b^3. We compute a well-defined
Measurement of the average time-integrated mixing probability of b-flavored hadrons produced at the Fermilab Tevatron
We have measured the number of like-sign (LS) and opposite-sign (OS) lepton pairs arising from double semileptonic decays of b and (b) over bar hadrons, pair produced at the Fermilab Tevatron
A precise measurement of the B + , B0 and mean b-hadron lifetime with the DELPHI detector at LEP I
Abstract.Final results from the DELPHI Collaboration on the lifetime of B + and B0 mesons and the mean b-hadron lifetime, are presented using the data collected at the Z0 peak in 1994 and 1995.
CP asymmetries in (semi-)inclusive $B^0$ decays
Abstract. It was recently pointed out that inclusive $B^0(t)$ decays could show mixing-induced CP violation. The totally inclusive asymmetry is expected to be tiny [${\cal O}(10^{-3})$] because of
New-physics effects on triple-product correlations inΛbdecays
We adopt an effective-Lagrangian approach to compute the new-physics contributions to T-violating triple-product correlations in charmless ${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}_{b}$ decays. We use factorization
