Self-healing polymers are a class of smart materials capable of autonomic repair of damage without the need for detection or repair by manual intervention. Our group has previously reported ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP)based self-healing materials in which the Grubbs’ catalyst is encapsulated in paraffin wax microspheres.
