This paper presents an automated real-time fault localization tool that correlates SCADA and lightning information from the lightning location system (LLS). The aim of this approach is to produce on-line information on possible fault spots for the network operator and/or restoration crew in the field. The results are obtained by temporal and spatial correlation of information from SCADA, LLS and geographical data sources.
