A novel approach is presented for fully automated boundary extraction and rectification of bony tissue from planar CT data. The approach extracts and rectifies feature boundary in a hierarchical fashion. It consists of a fuzzy multilevel thresholding operation, followed by a small void cleanup procedure. Then a binary morphological boundary detector is applied to extract the boundary. However, defective boundaries and undesirable artifacts may still be present. Thus two innovative anatomical…

EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AN X-RAY TUBE
TLDR
A Simulink model of an existing CT scanner control system is developed, and the incorporation of fuzzy logic reduces the error in the CT scanner tube current from 9 % to 0.75 %.
ACIPS: A Framework for Evaluating Patient Perception in the Introduction of AI-Enabled Healthcare
TLDR
The ACIPS framework is a framework for evaluating patient response to the introduction of AI-enabled digital technologies in healthcare settings and it is proposed that the tenets composing this framework can be translated into guidelines outlining the proper use of AI in healthcare while broadening the limited understanding of this topic.

TLDR
A mechanism is presented for automatic selection of scale levels when detecting one-dimensional image features, such as edges and ridges, with characteristic property that the selected scales on a scale-space ridge instead reflect the width of the ridge.
FEDGE - Fuzzy Edge Detection by Fuzzy Categorization and Classification of Edges
TLDR
FEDGE demonstrates that FCC can be used homogeneously from pixel-level to symbolic level by recursively defining concepts using examples and classify a new image by collecting evidence from these examples.

The authors present a robust neural network edge labelling strategy in which a network is trained with data from an imaging model of an ideal step edge to explore the network generalisation ability.
Three-dimensional reconstruction of complex shapes based on the Delaunay triangulation
TLDR
This work proposes a solution to the problem of 3D reconstruction from cross-sections, based on the Delaunay triangulation of object contours, which allows for a compact tetrahedrization resulting in a nearest-neighbor connection.
