We present a simple experiment on multilingual author profiling as proposed by the PAN-CLEF 2018 shared task, focusing on the issue of gender identification from Twitter text in English, Spanish and Arabic. Our proposal makes use of word embeddings enriched with char n-gram information, and outperforms a majority class baseline.
