This technical sketch describes an application for 3D sound using intuitive augmented reality interface. The AR/DJ was designed for the use in todays clubs, allowing a DJ to use the capabilities of 3D sound in such an environment, with the demands of being easy to use, enabling collaborative use and generating accurate and inter- active 3D sound.

Figures and Topics from this paper

An experimental study of spatial sound usefulness in searching and navigating through AR environments
TLDR
The experiment showed that the participants of the spatialized sound group performed faster and more efficiently than working in no-sound configuration, and 3D sound was a valuable cue for navigation in AR environment. Expand

TLDR
The CARL language has been extended with new sound elements to support 3D sound presentation in CARE environments, and the concept has been implemented in the CARL Browser that enables displaying augmented reality presentations enriched with3D sound. Expand
Spatial Auditory Human-Computer Interfaces
TLDR
This survey explains the most important limitations of the human hearing system and the perception of spatial sound and includes some technical background and basic processing and programming techniques for the creation and reproduction of spatial sounds with different audio equipment. Expand
Spatial Auditory Interfaces
TLDR
Spatial auditory interfaces use three-dimensional sound as an additional display dimension and consist of audio items at different spatial locations to increase realism in virtual worlds by imitating real environments where the majority of sounds can be localized and associated with their sources. Expand
Mobile collaborative live video mixing
TLDR
The requirements both for how visitors could capture and transmit live video using their mobile phones and how this new medium could be integrated within VJ aesthetics and interaction are decided and the SwarmCam application is presented, which has been implemented to investigate these requirements. Expand
Spatial sound localization in an augmented reality environment
TLDR
Users' capability to localize a spatial sound (registered with a virtual object) in an AR environment, under different spatial configurations of the virtual scene is explored. Expand
Augmented Reality Scenarios for Guitar Learning
In this paper, an experimental self-teaching system capable of superimposing audio-visual information to support the process of learning to play the guitar is proposed. Different learning scenariosExpand
Enhancing three-dimensional vision with three-dimensional sound
TLDR
This course offers a thorough introduction to three-dimensional, multi-channel sound, and provides a detailed overview of the currently available hardware and software. Expand
