SummaryThyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH; Protirelin), an endogenous neuropeptide, is known to have anticonvulsant effects in animal seizure models and certain intractable epileptic patients. Its duration of action, however, is limited by rapid tissue metabolism and the blood—brain barrier.
