A detailed description of the mechanism underlying chemical interface damping (CID) in silver nanoclusters is presented. The effect of adsorbates on the surface plasmon excitation in silver nanoclusters is explored by means of a method based on time-dependent self-consistent charge density functional tight binding (TD-SCC-DFTB).
