Large-scale MoS2 and WS2 inorganic fullerene-like (IF) nanostructures (onionlike nanoparticles, nanotubes) and elegant three-dimensional nanoflowers (NF) have been selectively prepared through an atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) process with the reaction of chlorides and sulfur. The morphologies were controlled by adjusting the deposition position, the deposition temperature, and the flux of the carrier gas. All of the nanostructures have been characterized by X-ray powder…

Controlled growth of MoS2 nanopetals and their hydrogen evolution performance
Edge-oriented MoS2 nanopetals complexed with basal-oriented MoS2 thin films have been mildly grown through a simple atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) process with the reaction of
Large-scale synthesis of NbS2 nanosheets with controlled orientation on graphene by ambient pressure CVD.
TLDR
Analyses based on X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy indicate that the NbS2 nanosheets are single crystalline 3R-type with a rhombohedral structure of R3m space group.
Scalable high-mobility MoS2 thin films fabricated by an atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition process at ambient temperature.
TLDR
This APCVD process is scalable and can be easily incorporated with conventional lithography as the deposition is taking place at room temperature, and it is found that the substrate material plays a significant role in the crystalline structure formation during the annealing process.
Synthesis of fullerene-like tantalum disulfide nanoparticles by a gas-phase reaction and laser ablation.
TLDR
The stability of the IF nanoparticles produced by the gas-phase reaction is discussed in the light of two existing theoretical models.
