Abstract Asymptotically nonlocal field theories represent a sequence of higher-derivative theories whose limit point is a ghost-free, infinite-derivative theory. Here, we extend previous work on pure scalar and Abelian gauge theories to asymptotically nonlocal non-Abelian theories. In particular, we confirm that there is a limit in which the Lee-Wick spectrum can be decoupled, but where the hierarchy problem is resolved via an emergent nonlocal scale that regulates loop diagrams and that is…

Asymptotically nonlocal gravity

: Asymptotically nonlocal field theories interpolate between Lee-Wick theories with multiple propagator poles, and ghost-free nonlocal theories. Previous work on asymptotically nonlocal scalar,

Re-normalisable Non-local Quark-Gluon Interaction: Mass Gap, Chiral Symmetry Breaking&Scale Invariance

We derive a Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model from a non-local gauge theory and show that it has confining properties at low energies. In particular, we present an extended approach to non-local QCD

Fate of the false vacuum in string-inspired nonlocal field theory

In this article, we study Coleman bounce in weakly nonlocal theories which are motivated from string field theory. The kinetic term is extended via an infinite series of high-order derivatives, which

Shadow Extra Dimensions&Fuzzy Branes with an Exorcized Spectrum

Particle physics models with extra dimensions of space (EDS’s) and branes allow to shed new light on naturalness of the electroweak and flavor sectors, with a rich TeV scale phenomenology. Usually,

Nonlocal gauge theories

Nonlocal gauge theories, including gravitation, are considered. It is shown that to give a meaning to /gamma//sub 5/-anomalous theories it is sufficient to introduce an additional nonlocal

Unitarity and microscopic acausality in a nonlocal theory

We consider unitarity and causality in a higher-derivative theory of infinite order, where propagators fall off more quickly in the ultraviolet due to the presence of a transcendental entire function

Cutkosky rules and perturbative unitarity in Euclidean nonlocal quantum field theories

We prove the unitarity of the Euclidean nonlocal scalar field theory to all perturbative orders in the loop expansion. The amplitudes in the Euclidean space are calculated assuming that all the

Non-unitarity of Minkowskian non-local quantum field theories

We show that Minkowskian non-local quantum field theories are not unitary. We consider a simple one loop diagram for a scalar non-local field and show that the imaginary part of the corresponding

Unitarity of Minkowski nonlocal theories made explicit

In this work we explicitly show that the perturbative unitarity of analytic infinite derivative (AID) scalar field theories can be achieved using a modified prescription for computing scattering

The Lee-Wick standard model

We construct a modification of the standard model which stabilizes the Higgs mass against quadratically divergent radiative corrections, using ideas originally discussed by Lee and Wick in the

Superrenormalizable gauge and gravitational theories

We investigate 4-dim gauge theories and gravitational theories with nonpolynomial actions containing an infinite series in covariant derivatives of the fields representing the expansion of a

Super-renormalizable Quantum Gravity

In this paper we study perturbatively an extension of the Stelle higher derivative gravity involving an infinite number of derivative terms. We know that the usual quadratic action is renormalizable

Extended Chern-Simons Model for a Vector Multiplet

It is shown that the introduction of extra scalar field, serving as Higgs, can stabilize dynamics in the vicinity of the local minimum of energy.
