We analyze the asymptotic behavior of longtailed traffic sources under the Generalized Processor Sharing (GPS) discipline. GPS-based scheduling algorithms, such as Weighted Fair Queueing, have emerged as an important mechanism for achieving differentiated quality-ofservice in integrated-services networks.
