Astrophysical implications of a solution in Kaluza-Klein gravity

The exact solution of Kaluza-Klein gravity found by Chatterjee (1990, 1990, A&A, 230) is shown to be a special member of a class found by Gross & Perry (1983, 1983, Nucl. Phys. B, 226) and Davidson & Owen (1985, 1985, Phys. Lett., 155B). However, the Chatterjee solution involves a physically interesting choice of parameters, and we therefore outline its astrophysical implications
