The oscillation spectrum of v Eri is the richest known for any variable of the β Cephei type. We interpret the spectrum in terms of normal mode excitation and construct seismic models of the star. The frequency data combined with data on mean colours set the upper limit on the extent of overshooting from the convective core. We use data on rotational splitting of two dipole (l = 1) modes (g 1 and p 1 ) to infer properties of the internal rotation rate. Adopting a plausible hypothesis of nearly… Expand

SEISMOLOGY OF β CEPHEI STARS: DIFFERENTIALLY ROTATING MODELS FOR INTERPRETING THE OSCILLATION SPECTRUM OF ν ERIDANI
A method for the asteroseismic analysis of β Cephei stars is presented and applied to the star ν Eridani. The method is based on the analysis of rotational splittings and their asymmetries usingExpand
Interpretation of the BRITE oscillation data of the hybrid pulsator ν Eridani: a call for the modification of stellar opacities
• Physics
• 2017
The analysis of the BRITE oscillation spectrum of the main sequence early B-type star $\nu$ Eridani is presented. Only models with the modified mean opacity profile can account for the observedExpand

An asteroseismic study of the β Cephei star θ Ophiuchi: constraints on global stellar parameters and core overshooting
We present a seismic study of the β Cephei star θ Ophiuchi. Our analysis is based on the observation of one radial mode, one rotationally split = 1 triplet and three components of a rotationallyExpand
The two hybrid B-type pulsators: ν Eridani and 12 Lacertae
• Physics
• 2008
The rich oscillation spectra determined for the two stars, ν Eridani and 12 Lacertae, present an interesting challenge to stellar modelling. The stars are hybrid objects showing not only a number ofExpand
Pulsation frequency distribution in δ Scuti stars
• Physics

We study the frequency distributions ofScuti stars observed by the Kepler satel- lite in short-cadence mode. To minimize errors in the estimated stellar parameters, we divided the instability stripExpand
Constraints on opacities from complex asteroseismology of B-type pulsators: the β Cephei star θ Ophiuchi
• Physics
• 2009
We present results of a comprehensive asteroseismic modelling of the β Cephei variable θ Ophiuchi. We call these studies complex asteroseismology because our goal is to reproduce both pulsationalExpand
Multiperiodicity in the large-amplitude rapidly-rotating beta Cephei star HD 203664
Aims. We made a seismic study of the young massive β Cephei star HD 203664 with the goal of constraining its interior structure. Methods. Our study is based on a time series of 328 new GenevaExpand

Asteroseismology of HD 129929: Core Overshooting and Nonrigid Rotation
High-quality multicolor Geneva photometric data taken over 21 years of the B3Vstar HD 129929 detect six frequencies, among which appear the effects of rotational splitting with a spacing of ∼0.0121 cycles per day, which implies that the star rotates very slowly. Expand
