Dysbindin (DTNBP1: dystrobrevin binding protein 1), located on 6p22.3, is a candidate susceptibility gene for schizophrenia. Several studies, mostly in Caucasians, have provided evidence for an association between schizophrenia and the gene, although no common polymorphism or haploytpe has been established.
