Mupirocin is a topical antimicrobial used to eradicate methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) colonization, usually in the absence of susceptibility testing. We hypothesized that high-level (HL) mupirocin resistance was associated with multidrug resistance (MDR).
