Abstract: Susceptibility to and outcome for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have been associated with particular HLA‐DR alleles, but these alleles vary among ethnic groups and geographic areas. The frequency of HLA‐DR1 (HLA‐DRB1*0101, DRB1*0102) and HLA‐DR4 (DRB1*0401, DRB1*0404) alleles is elevated among Caucasian patients with RA. We studied a northeastern Hungarian population of RA patients to determine the frequency of HLA‐DR1 and HLA‐DR4 phenotypes in this population and to compare it with…
The association of HLA-DRB1 alleles with rheumatoid arthritis in the Chinese Shantou population: a follow-up study.
TLDR
The observations indicated that the HLA-DRB1*04 alleles were significantly associated with RA susceptibility in the Chinese Shantou population, and may be associated with the severity of RA.
HLA-DRB1 Frequency in Romanian patients with early rheumatoid arthritis
TLDR
Results of the study are demonstrating the need of a continuous work of allele tracing and associating with rheumatoid arthritis, especially in cases early diagnosed in order to create sufficient premises for instituting a correct and possibly long term remissive treatment.
HLA-DRB 1 Alleles Distribution in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis in A Tertiary Center in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey Türkiye
Objective: The HLA-DRB1 alleles play an important role in the genetic predisposition to rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The relationship between HLA-DRB1 and rheumatoid arthritis show differences
Association of HLA-DRB1 and -DQB1alleles and haplotypes with rheumatoid arthritis in a Pakistani population
TLDR
There is a significant DRB1and DQB1 allele and haplotype association with rheumatoid arthritis susceptibility and protection.
Collagen Specific T-Cell Repertoire and HLA-DR Alleles: Biomarkers of Active Refractory Rheumatoid Arthritis
TLDR
HLA-DRB1* haplotypes 04–04, 04–01 and 04–11 were significantly associated with usage of TRBV25, higher disease activity at the onset of disease and poor response to DMARDs.
Relationship of the HLA-DRB1 alleles and seropositivity, anti-MCV, functional status and radiological damage in Turkish patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
TLDR
The association between the HLA alleles and seropositivity, functional status, anti-MCV levels and radiological damage in patients in the Southeast Anatolian region of Turkey was revealed.
Associations between serum anti-CCP antibody, rheumatoid factor levels and HLA-DR4 expression in Hungarian patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
TLDR
There is significant association betweenAnti-CCP and RF, as well as between anti- CCP and SE positivity in RA, and the presence of one or two copies of HLA-DRB1*04 alleles has been associated with higher serum anti-CCp antibody levels.
HLA polymorphism and early rheumatoid arthritis in the Moroccan population.
TLDR
This study suggests that DRB 1*04 predisposes to RA while DRB1*07 seems protective for the Moroccan patients population, and shows the influence of some haplotypes DR-DQ in the susceptibility and protection against the disease.
Evaluation of differences in HLA-DR4 gene and its subtypes prevalence among healthy people and RA patients in Isfahan province population
TLDR
The impact of HLA-DR4 gene and its subtypes or subgroups, be consistence on RA patient who lived in Isfahan province, has been evaluated and observed differences between prevalence between case and control group were not statistically significant.
Aspartic acid70 in the HLA-DRB1 chain and shared epitope alleles partially explain the high prevalence of autoimmunity in Mexicans
TLDR
Patients with AITD and RA have a characteristic immunogenetic signature that could be useful for determining multiple autoimmunities and assessing their relatives’ risk of developing it, which seems to be linked mainly to the lack of protective alleles with aspartic acid in the position 70.

The association of HLA-DRB genes and the shared epitope with rheumatoid arthritis in Pakistan.
TLDR
The distribution of HLA-DR alleles in Pakistanis with RA supports the shared epitope hypothesis and in common with other non-European racial groups, Hla-DR4 was not associated with RA.
HLA-DRB1*04 subtypes are associated with increased inflammatory activity in early rheumatoid arthritis.
TLDR
The results indicate that patients with early RA who are homozygous for DRB1*04 exhibit an elevated inflammatory activity and an increase of joint affections and indicate that Patients with particular HLA-DRB 1*04 haplotype combinations may require intensified therapeutic interventions in the early stage of the disease to prevent disease progression.
HLA-DR4 subtype frequencies in rheumatoid arthritis indicate that DRB1 is the major susceptibility locus within the HLA class II region.
TLDR
Sequencing the DRB1 and DQB1 genes from RA patients provides direct evidence that sequence differences between these subtypes implicate those residues around the putative antigen binding site of the DR beta molecule in the pathogenesis of RA.
Association of specific amino acid sequence of HLA-DR with rheumatoid arthritis in Koreans and its diagnostic value.
TLDR
The observation indicates that a shared sequence 70QR(K)RA74A, especially in HLA-DR4 subtypes, is strongly associated with RA in the Korean population, and the importance of DRB1*0405 in the pathogenesis of RA in East Asian ethnic groups was confirmed.

TLDR

HLA class II sequence polymorphisms and susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis in Greeks. The HLA-DR beta shared-epitope hypothesis accounts for the disease in only a minority of Greek patients.
TLDR
DNA analysis in the RA patients showed that although individual HLA-DR allelic associations were weak, a relatively conserved Hla-DR beta motif was significantly associated with RA in this population of Greek patients, which suggests that considerable immunogenetic heterogeneity underlies disease susceptibility in this populations of patients.
