Twenty-three primary and 27 metastatic melanoma lesions and 17 pigmented nevi lesions were tested utilizing the immunoperoxidase reaction with anti-sialyl Lewis(a) (sLea) and anti-sLex mAbs.sLea was expressed in 9, 25, and 5 and sLex was expressed in 6, 11, and 2 of these lesions, respectively.
