OBJECTIVE An association between glycosylated hemoglobin (GHb) and cardiovascular mortality in nondiabetic individuals has recently been reported. Prompt detection of nondiabetic individuals with high-normal GHb and early cardiovascular involvement may be of value for preventive strategies.
