UNLABELLED Vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) is a putative molecular target for the quantitative imaging of pancreatic beta-cell mass by PET. The VMAT2 PET tracer (11)C-dihydrotetrabenazine ((11)C-DTBZ) exhibits high pancreatic uptake that is reduced in type 1 diabetes.
