Sir: The accuracy of the PiCCO (Pulsion Medical Systems) pulse contour (PC) cardiac output (CO) method is known to be affected by marked changes in vascular tone. However, the need for recalibration, using transpulmonary thermodilution (TDtp), of the PC method has not been studied under stable clinical conditions.
