(abridged) We present a comprehensive study of stellar stratification in young star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). We apply our recently developed effective radius method for the assessment of stellar stratification on imaging data obtained with the Advanced Camera for Surveys of three young LMC clusters to characterize the phenomenon and develop a comparative scheme for its assessment in such clusters. The clusters of our sample, NGC 1983, NGC 2002 and NGC 2010, are selected on… Expand

A new diagnostic method for assessment of stellar stratification in star clusters
We propose a new method for the characterization of stellar stratification in stellar systems. The method uses the mean-square radius ( also called the Spitzer radius) of the system as a diagnosticExpand
Peculiarities in velocity dispersion and surface density profiles of star clusters
Based on our recent work on tidal tails of star clusters we investigate star clusters of a few 104 M(circle dot) by means of velocity dispersion profiles and surface density profiles. We use aExpand
The VMC survey: XII. Star cluster candidates in the large magellanic cloud
Context. In this work we analyse Colour-Magnitude Diagrams (CMDs) of catalogued star clusters located in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), from a Y JKs photometric data set obtained by the VisibleExpand

Mass segregation in young Magellanic Cloud star clusters: Four clusters observed with HST
We present the results of our investigation on the phenomenon of mass segregation in young star clusters in the Magellanic Clouds. HST/WFPC2 observations on NGC 1818, NGC 2004 and NGC 2100 in theExpand
Stellar Populations in Three Outer Fields of the Large Magellanic Cloud
We present Hubble Space Telescope photometry for three fields in the outer disk of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) extending approximately 4 mag below the faintest main-sequence turnoff. We cannotExpand

Surface brightness profiles and structural parameters for 53 rich stellar clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud
We have compiled a pseudo-snapshot data set of two-colour observations from the Hubble Space Telescope archive for a sample of 53 rich LMC clusters with ages of 106–1010 yr. We present surfaceExpand
Stellar luminosity functions of rich star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud
We show the results of deep V and I HST photometry of 6 rich star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud with different ages and metallicities. The number of stars with measured magnitudes in eachExpand

We present the results of our investigation of the intermediate-age star cluster BS 90, located in the vicinity of the H II region N66 in the SMC, observed with HST ACS. The high-resolution dataExpand
Mass Segregation in Young Large Magellanic Cloud Clusters. I. NGC 2157
We have carried out Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 V- and I-band imaging of the young LMC cluster NGC 2157. Construction of a color-magnitude diagram and isochrone fitting yield an age of τ = 108 yr,Expand
Simple stellar population models as probed by the Large Magellanic Cloud star cluster ESO 121‐SC03
The presence of blue straggler stars (BSs) in star clusters has proven a challenge to conventional simple stellar population (SSP) models. Conventional SSP models are based on the evolution theory ofExpand
CCD photometric and mass function study of nine young Large Magellanic Cloud star clusters
We present a CCD photometric and mass function study of nine young Large Magellanic Cloud star clusters, namely NGC 1767, 1994, 2002, 2003, 2006, SL 538, NGC 2011, 2098 and 2136. BV RI data, reachingExpand
The Secrets of the Nearest Starburst Cluster. II. The Present-Day Mass Function in NGC 3603
