ABSTRACT : The conservation status of an endemic perennial herb, Hanabusaya asiatica (Nakai) Nakai (Cam-panulaceae) was determined by applying the IUCN risk assessment criteria from our field study and availablespecimen data. Also, the GIS technology was used to develop a species distribution map to calculate the extentof occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) for the taxon. After two years of continuous field studies,269 mature individuals were found in four localities in 2011, while 216…

As an endemic species in Korea Adenophora erecta S. Lee, Joongku Lee et S. Kim is distributed in a restricted area of Ulleung island. In this study, we confirmed finding only about 60 individuals in
Microsatellite DNA analysis reveals lower than expected genetic diversity in the threatened leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis) in South Korea
TLDR
The results indicate that the genetic diversity of the leopard cat in South Korea is unexpectedly low, and that the risk of local extinction is, as a result, substantial.
