Cupania vernalis camb. (Sapindaceae) is a species commonly found in almost all forest associations, mainly in savanna-like vegetation (cerrado) and galeria woods, spreading over the states of Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Sao Paulo and reaching as far as Rio Grande do Sul.
