Seventy-eight patients with aseptic cerebral venous thrombosis between 1966 and 1990 were reviewed in order to determine prognostic factors for this condition. Sixty-eight patients were women. The average age of the patients was 30.5 years. Fifty-two percent of patients developed the thrombosis during the postpartum or puerperal stage.
