Ascorbic Acid Levels in the Plasma of some Antarctic Birds and Mammals

Abstract

DURING the course of the 1950–51 Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition to Macquarie Island, a study was made of the levels of ascorbic acid in the plasma of members of the expedition. At the same time, the opportunity was taken of determining the ascorbic acid levels in the plasma of a number of birds and mammals from the Island.
