Arteriosclerosis: is stress-induced immune suppression a risk factor?

Abstract

Female Sprague-Dawley rats, purchased as retired breeders, developed arteriosclerosis that was accompanied by immune complex deposition in the arterial lesion and depressed immune responsiveness to T cell mitogens.
