Two experiments were performed to determine whether arginine vasotocin (AVT) stimulates synthesis of prostaglandins (PGs) in reptilian oviducts. Homogenized oviducal tissue from female Sceloporus jarrovi in early and late pregnancy were cultured with radiolabeled (14C) prostaglandin precursor, arachidonic acid (AA).
