A polyphasic taxonomic study was performed on an unidentified Arcanobacterium-like Gram-stain-positive bacterium isolated from otitis externa of a dog. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that the bacterium belonged to the genus Arcanobacterium and was most closely related to the type strains of Arcanobacterium haemolyticum (97.2 %), Arcanobacterium hippocoleae (96.5 %) and Arcanobacterium phocae (96.4 %). The presence of the major menaquinone MK-9(H(4)) supported the affiliation of…

Arcanobacterium phocisimile sp. nov., isolated from harbour seals.
TLDR
Based on the common origin and various physiological properties comparable to those of A. phocae, it is proposed that the isolates are classified as members of a novel species with the name Arcanobacterium phocisimile sp.
Arcanobacterium wilhelmae sp. nov., isolated from the genital tract of a rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis).

TLDR
A taxonomic study using a polyphasic approach was performed on an unidentified Arcanobacterium-like Gram-stain-positive bacterium isolated from the genital tract of a rhinoceros, and it is proposed that the unknown bacterium should be classified as a representative of a novel species of the genus Arcano-Bacterium wilhelmaesp.
Arcanobacterium pinnipediorum sp. nov., isolated from a harbour seal.
TLDR
A polyphasic taxonomic study was performed on an unidentified Arcanobacterium-like, Gram-stain-positive bacterium, strain 2710T, isolated from a harbour seal, and it is proposed that this unknown bacterium should be classified as a novel species of the genus ArcanOBacterium, with the name Arcan Obacterium pinnipediorum sp.
Arcanobacterium bovis sp. nov., isolated from the milk of a cow with mastitis.
TLDR
A polyphasic taxonomic study was performed on an unidentified Arcanobacterium-like Gram-stain-positive bacterium isolated from a milk sample collected from the udder of a cow at post mortem, proposing that strain C605018/01/1T should be classified as representing a novel species, Arcanbacterium bovis sp.
Ancrocorticia populi gen. nov., sp. nov, isolated from the symptomatic bark of Populus × euramericana canker
TLDR
It is proposed that the novel isolate, isolated from canker of symptomatic bark tissue of a Populus × euramericana, should be classified as a novel species in a new genus: Ancrocorticia populi gen. nov.
Further characteristics of Arcanobacterium canis, a novel species of genus Arcanobacterium.
Trueperella pyogenes isolated from a brain abscess of an adult roebuck (Capreolus capreolus)
TLDR
The present data give a detailed characterization of a T. pyogenes strain isolated from a brain abscess of a roebuck, however, the route of infection of the roebucks remains unclear.
Phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of Arcanobacterium haemolyticum isolated from clinical samples in a Danish hospital
Six Arcanobacterium haemolyticum strains isolated from six patients of two hospitals in Denmark were identified phenotypically, also including matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization

chemical and numerical phenetic data indicate that 'C. haemolyticum' is a distinct taxon worthy of generic status and a new genus, Arcanobacterium, is described, tentatively placed within the 'coryneform group of bacteria'.

Numerical analysis of fatty acid patterns of coryneform bacteria and related taxa
TLDR
A numerical study of the fatty acid patterns of 263 reference strains belonging to the genera Arthrobacter, Aureobacterium, Brevibacterium and Cellulomonas found that strains of the species Corynebacterium glutamicum, CoryneBacterium ammoniagenes, and Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae could be found in distinct clusters, based on quantitative differ...
Phenotypic and Genotypic Characterization of Arcanobacterium haemolyticum Isolates from Infections of Horses
TLDR
All seven strains showed the cultural and biochemical properties typical of A. haemolyticum and were susceptible to most of the antibiotics tested, suggesting that this generally human pathogenic bacterial species seems to occur also in infections of horses.
