In vitro studies were carried out to evaluate the antifungal activity of Aloe vera shoot extract in aqueous (polar) and organic (non-polar) solvents against few pathogenic species of genus Alternaria viz., A. alternata, A. citri and A. tenuissima. The assessments revealed that Aloe vera contained substantial antimicrobial efficacy. The shoot aqueous extracts caused significant inhibition in growth and biomass production of the three tested fungi. In case of n-hexane extraction the inhibitory…

Comparative antifungal activities of processed and market Aloe vera gel

In vitro antifungal potential of three types of Aloe vera gel i.e. locally available, imported and finally processed gel was checked against three pathogenic Aspergillus species and it was assumed that processed gel is least toxic as compared to local and imported A. vera gels.

Evaluation of antifungal activity of Meliaceae family against Macrophomina phaseolina

Aqueous extracts of aqueous leaf extracts of Azadirachta indica and M. azedarach significantly reduced biomass of M. phaseolina and stimulated the growth of the fungus at all the tested concentrations, indicating antifungal activity of T. ciliata.

Fungistatic activity of aqueous and organic solvent extracts of rice varieties on phytophathogenic fungi

In vitro antifungal activity of aqueous, methanol and n-hexane shoot extracts of three rice varieties against two phytopathogenic fungi proved less susceptible to these extracts as compared to M. phaseolina.

Antifungal potential of Parthenium hysterophorus L. plant extracts against Fusarium solani

Aqueous and organic extracts of P. hysterophorus have potential to obstruct dreadful effect of pathogenic fungi by suppressing their growth as well as confer vital and surprisingly stable compounds having inhibitory potential against F. solani FCBP-434.

Fungitoxicity of aqueous and organic solvent extracts of Datura metel against Ascochyta rabiei

In vitro efficacy of aqueous and methanolic extracts of Datura metel was evaluated against Ascochyta rabiei and the sensitivity of colony growth was studied in terms of inhibition zone.

PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING AND IN - VITRO ANTIFUNGAL INVESTIGATION OF PARTHE NIUM HYSTEROPHORUS EXTRACTS AGAINST ALTERNARIA ALTERNATA

The present study supports the use of leaf extract of Parthenium hysterophorus as biofungicides for the disease caused by Alternaria alternata to save the environment from chemical haza rds as most of the synthetic fungicide constitute mercury, zinc etc which are toxic for nature.

ETHNOMEDICINAL POTENTIAL OF KHAYA SENEGALENSIS (DESR) A. JUSS (MAHOGANY) ON PATHOGENIC FUNGI OF VEGETABLES IN SOKOTO METROPOLIS

The antifungal efficacy of Khaya senegalensis (leaf and bark) extracts was tested in vitro on three pathogenic fungi of vegetables in Sokoto metropolis, at differ ent concentrations (1mg/1ml, 3mg/ml,

Antifungal Activity of Important Botanicals against Plant Pathogens

The state of Jammu and Kashmir possess a significant portion of Himalayas with areas of high altitude, cold deserts and immense plant diversity including a Plethora of medicinal and aromatic plants that are known to have International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences.

ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF ALOE VERA GEL AGAINST PLANT PATHOGENIC FUNGI

The agar plate diffusion plate method was used to test antifungal activity of Aloe vera gel against five plant pathogenic fungi viz., Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, Alternaria alternata, Drechslera hawaiensis and Penicillium digitatum.
