Morphological and ecological uniformity in the funnel-mouthed tadpoles of Malagasy litter frogs, subgenus Chonomantis
TLDR
Results of a morphological and ecological study on the funnel-mouthed tadpoles of litter frogs in the subgenus Chonomantis, genus Mantidactylus, from Madagascar indicate a rather low influence of larval competition in creating selective pressures for specialization in these frogs.
Evolution of reproduction in the Rhacophoridae (Amphibia, Anura)
TLDR
The data point to the existence of a clade, including the genera Rhacophorus, Polypedates, Chiromantis and Chirixalus, which confirms the results of Wilkinson et al. (2002) and suggests that the ability to produce foam nests has emerged only once in theRhacophoridae.
A REVISION OF SPECIES IN THE SUBGENUS NIDIRANA DUBOIS, 1992, WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE IDENTITY OF SPECIMENS ALLOCATED TO RANA ADENOPLEURA BOULENGER, 1909, AND RANA CHAPAENSIS (BOURRET, 1937) (AMPHIBIA: ANURA: RANIDAE) FROM THAILAND AND LAOS
TLDR
The specimens from Thailand previously listed as Rana adenopleura and Rana chapaensis are re-allocated to Rana lini based on external morphological characteristics and some confusions of the original description are clarified.
External morphology, buccopharyngeal anatomy and development rate of the tadpoles of two Asian Ranidae (Amphibia: Anura), Hylarana humeralis (Boulenger, 1887) and Hylarana leptoglossa (Cope, 1868)
TLDR
The occurrence of three relevant larval characters (keratodont row formula, presence of long marginal papillae on the lower labium and presence of glands) is examined among the different subgenera and clades inferred from molecular phylogenies to assess their homogeneity regarding larval morphology.
Sorting out Lalos: description of new species and additional taxonomic data on megophryid frogs from northern Indochina (genus Leptolalax, Megophryidae, Anura)
TLDR
Analysis of diagnostic characters in adult Leptolalax and results of molecular analysis are presented.
